Gold medal for Villabella's Chiaretto at the 14th Bardolino Chiaretto Classico Competition, which took place from June 8th to 10th in Bardolino.
The event is completely dedicated to the Rosè wine type, Bardolino Chiaretto, produced with local grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella e Molinara.

Besides the competition, many other happenings: tasting sessions for the member of the public, institutional stands, meetings, music and fireworks

Needs air to bring out the currant, berry, olive and fresh herb aromas, with a balanced accompaniment of oak. Full-bodied, with intense, spicy fruit and mineral flavors, fine tannins and a long, tight finish. Has a pretty sweet fruit aftertaste. Corvina, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best after 2007. 1,500 cases made. –JC

New  wine release at Villabella Montemazzano, Rosso Veronese igt 2004

With the beginning of 2007 Villabella introduces a new wine – Montemazzano 2004 – a red igt produced with 100% Corvina grapes grown in Calmasino, on the morainic hills sorrounding Lake Garda. It is aged in big Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months.

Montemazzano represents the second step of a project focusing on the Garda lake territory which started with Villa Cordevigo Rosso in 2001. In this case  Villabella tested the potential of Corvina blended with Merlot and Cabernet. With Montemazzano the test focused 100% on Corvina.
Montemazzano, supple and clean in the nose, is a full body wine. It has sweet tannins with spicy notes in the end. Ideal with grilled meat and half seasoned cheese.
